Dear Friends:

I want to issue my personal invitation to a Tribute Luncheon for former Executive Director Dr. William E. Flood at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25th. The Luncheon will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on 260 Mall Blvd, not far from our Valley Forge administrative offices.

Bill Flood has been a tireless champion for direct care of children and youth for many years. He joined the Board of Baptist Children’s Services in 1974 and served as Board President and Vice President before assuming the post of Executive Director in 1999.

I think of the Tribute Luncheon as a second retirement party for Bill and we expect many of Bill’s lifelong friends and colleagues to recall their interaction with Bill in his many pervious lives. Just listing his accomplishments makes one breathless:

Pastor of churches in New Jersey and Michigan; Chaplain in the United States Air Fore; Director of Chaplaincy Service and Ministry to Service Personnel for the ABC Home Missionary Society; Executive Director of the Associated Community Residential Enterprises; and President of Heritage Corp. and Heritage Healthcare Corp., to list but a few. He is a graduate of Eastern Baptist College and Eastern Seminary (now Palmer Theological Seminary). He received the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1967 in recognition of service with the American Baptist Home Mission Societies.

Please come and join the festivities. Let’s give Bill a great sendoff to retirement.
